Dr. Anupama Sehgal obtained her Doctorate degree from New England College of Optometry in 1999 and also holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Biology and Psychology from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Sehgal is patient-focused and driven by providing high-quality care to the community. In her previous practice, she repeatedly achieved high customer satisfaction ratings and was rated the top optometric practice in her area in 2015.
She specializes in the fitting of glasses and contact lenses of all types, including soft, toric, multi-focal, gas-permeable, and CRT lenses. Additionally, she has gained traction as having expertise in dry eye, glaucoma and myopia control. Dr. Sehgal is also certified in laser refractive surgery co-management and has provided pre-and post-operative care to her laser patients for the last 20 years.
After spending 17 years servicing patients in her Metrowest-based practice, Sehgal Eye Associates, Dr. Anu Sehgal acquired Chelmsford Optometric Associates in 2015.
In her spare time, Dr. Sehgal enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She also enjoys reading and relaxing by the ocean.
Dr. Lahey graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 2013 and attended Worcester State College (before it was a University) prior. While attending NECO, she had rotations with special populations – pediatrics, geriatrics, specialty contact lenses, community health centers, surgical centers, and veterans – which prepared her for primary eye care for the whole family.
In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga and hiking. But like the New England native that she is, if the weather is uncooperative, you can find her watching anything that will make her laugh.
Dr. Jessica Ships received her Bachelor’s degree in Medical and Molecular Biology at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and continued her dreams at New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she received her Doctorate in Optometry in May 2022 with Clinical Honors. From the start of optometry school, Dr. Ships had a growing passion for pediatric care, vision therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation. Continuing her fascination in these specialties, Dr. Ships concluded a pediatric and vision rehabilitation residency at Family Eyecare Associates in Fair Lawn, NJ. Here she specialized in helping to correct those with eye coordination difficulties, learning-related vision disorders, myopia control and specialty contact lenses, while still seeing primary care patients. Some vision disorders include problems with focusing, eye tracking, eye coordination, visual information processing, strabismus, amblyopia, as well as vision problems that result from concussion and traumatic brain injuries.
Dr. Ships’ passion is to assist in both pediatric and adult optometric care, especially for those with all types of special needs, including those on the autism spectrum. Upon joining the team at Chelmsford Optometric Associates, she hopes to introduce vision therapy to its patients and employees.
In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, being creative, exploring, and spending time with her family in Long Island, NY, and Boston, MA.
